Located south of Suriname's capital city Paramaribo is the Brownsberg Nature Reserve. The Brownsberg Nature Reserve was established in 1969 and is 112 square kilometers of jungle. It is home to dozens of unique birds such as toucans, woodpeckers, and parrots. There are also plenty of mammals such as howler monkeys, jaguars, and armadillos. It contains beautiful mountains and waterfalls. Most tourists visit two waterfalls: Irene Falls which stands 250 feet tall and Leo Falls which stands 145 feet tall.
