The St Peter and Paul Cathedral is a beautiful building towering at 144 feet. It is located in Surname’s capital Paramaribo. The St Peter and Paul Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral was made out of wood because of its abundance and lack of other resources such as stone/bricks. The St Peter and Paul Cathedral was given the status of a cathedral in 1958 and is also the largest wooden structure in the Western Hemisphere. It is also a location of pilgrimage for certain Suriname’s Roman Catholics who make up 20% of the population
